Equestrian Program

Equestrian Excellence

Our Program

Equestrian excellence knows no bounds at McDonogh School. Our program boasts three indoor arenas and provides unparalleled opportunities for all levels of equestrians.

Our team of nationally certified trainers provides expert instruction that guides riders from the foundational levels of our Lower School PE program to the heights of varsity and college preparatory offerings, with carefully curated steps along the way.

Additionally, our one-of-a-kind horses and ponies are a testament to the beauty and grace of the equestrian world. From Leadline to Junior Hunter competition, our mounts are among the most coveted in the region.

What's more, our program is inclusive, welcoming students from local schools and colleges, as well as adults, to join our vibrant equestrian community and share in the joy of horsemanship.

Discover the extraordinary journey that awaits in McDonogh’s premier equestrian program. For more information, contact equestrian@mcdonogh.org.

Through a combination of expert insight, structured resources, and personalized guidance, Educated Rider supports riders at every stage of recruitment — from understanding timelines and communicating effectively with college coaches to identifying programs that are the right fit athletically, academically, and culturally. Since its founding in 2023, the platform has supported the placement of more than 30 riders and helped families secure more than $1.5 million in scholarship opportunities.

As part of this partnership, McDonogh families gain access to exclusive programming, including:

  • Parent education webinars.
  • Student-athlete panels.
  • Camp preparation sessions.
  • Curated recruiting insights, along with preferred access to Educated Rider's structured programs.

Educated Rider was founded by Raegan Rast Bennett, a former Division I equestrian at Texas Christian University, where she earned recognition as Big 12 Rider of the Year, an NCEA All-American, and served as Jump Seat Captain. Drawing on her firsthand experience competing at the highest level of collegiate equestrian, Raegan has developed strong, ongoing relationships with college coaches nationwide, allowing her to provide riders with direct insight into program expectations, recruiting priorities, and what coaches are truly looking for in prospective student-athletes. This combination of competitive experience and coach-level perspective informs a strategic, highly informed approach to guiding riders through the recruiting process.
