New Pool is Almost Ready for Swimmers
The state-of-the-art Henry A. Rosenberg Jr. Aquatic Center will be completed on time and on budget. Students should be swimming before the promised November 17 completion date.
The new center will include an eight-lane, 50-meter pool with an observation area that will seat 275 spectators. The pool will also have one moveable bulkhead, a heated deck, and a fully automated scoreboard with a color digital matrix system. In addition, the center will house a classroom, exercise and storage rooms, and a coach's office.
The new facility replaces the original pool that served McDonogh's aquatic teams for the last 55 years.
