John McDonogh Monument
Located at the top of Shell Road, the monument marks the grave of John McDonogh, the school's benefactor. It is inscribed with his "Rules for Living," which he set forth at age 24 as guiding principles. The sculpted memorial and McDonogh's body were moved from Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore to McDonogh School in 1945.
