General Summary
The Maintenance worker performs duties to ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and renovation of the facilites, infrastructure, and utility systems of the school.
This is a full-time, entry level position.

Essential Functions
- Perform preventative and necessary maintenance on facilities and equipment
- Perform inspection and tests of machinery and equipment. Repair and maintain as needed to ensure safety of the user as well as those in the proximity
- Operate necessary tools and machinery to complete repairs and maintenance safely
- Have a working knowledge of building trades and basic carpentry
- Have a basic need of plumbing and electrical systems- perform basic maintenance as required
- Assist in preparation, set up, and dismantling of tables, chairs, and other equipment as needed for special events
- Must be available to report to campus for weather related circumstances (such as snow removal), and/or other emergencies requiring maintenance staff (to include on-call assignments)
Recommended Employment Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years experience is required.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic knowledge of, and ability to safely utilize hand and/or power tools
- Excellent multi-tasking ability; able to work with multiple and changing priorities
- Must have proven problem solving skills, be self motivated, and adaptable
- Must have strong attention to safety details

- Must be able to comply with background check, including finger prints, as required by the agency and / or state regulations.
- Must have a valid drivers license to be able to drive vehicles as required to perform duties, traveling to other areas of campus, picking up trash, and/or moving equipment. Report any safety issues or malfunctioning vehicles or equipment.
- Must possess personal qualifications as required, flexibility, patience, good personal hygiene and physical and mental health that do not interfere with responsibilities.
Working Conditions
Climbing. Driving in various travel situations, including severe weather occasionally. Evening, weekend, and Holiday hours may be required. Lifting of at least 50 pounds. Reaching, grasping. Standing. Stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Walking around campus. Working in high/precarious places. Working in outside weather conditions. Working near moving mechanical parts. Working with extreme noise levels.
