We seek a dynamic individual to lead our junior varsity baseball program for the 2025 spring season at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, MD, 21117.

The Eagles compete in the M.I.A.A. B Conference.

This is a stipended position and accordingly, does not qualify for benefits offered by the School.

 

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement practice plans. Check-in weekly with the head coach.
  • Lead team meetings and communicate goals and expectations clearly
  • Coordinate with assistant coaches to optimize player development
  • Inspire and motivate student-athletes to reach their full potential
  • Foster sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork among players
  • Represent the program with professionalism and integrity

Additional Experience

  • Must have played baseball, ideally at the collegiate level
  • Must have working knowledge and a deep understanding of the game and strategies
  • Previous coaching experience at the high school level

  • Ability to mentor and develop student-athletes
  • Desire to work in a diverse environment and inclusive culture that values and respects difference across race, ethnicity, religion, and orientation or identity
  • Must be able to comply with background check, including finger prints, as required by the agency and/or state regulations.
  • Must have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Unwavering commitment to fostering a positive team culture

Working Conditions

Evening and weekend hours are required. Lifting and carrying of equipment is typical, generally under 25 pounds, with occasional need to lift up to 50 pounds. Other working conditions include climbing stairs, walking around campus, sitting, standing, bending, balancing, squatting, reaching, and grasping. Working in outside weather conditions.
