Title	Recess Monitor- Lower School

General Summary

The Lower School is seeking four individuals to cover recess duties daily from approximately 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. during the school year, from late August through early June. Individuals should be warm, nurturing, and effective problem-solvers. Experience with elementary-age students is required. Some training will be provided.

Essential Functions

• Promoting appropriate activities and an environment in which students interact in a fun and safe manner
• Fostering the physical, social, and emotional development of students
• Encouraging and facilitating teamwork, cooperation, leadership, and conflict resolution
• Guiding children in working and playing harmoniously with other children
• Alerting the teachers and/or administration to the special needs of individual children

Working Conditions

Lifting and carrying of equipment is not typical, but may be required on rare occasions. Lifting up to 25 pounds. Other working conditions include climbing stairs, walking around campus, sitting, standing, bending, balancing, squatting, reaching, and grasping. Working in outside weather conditions.
