Sophomore Oratory Contest Encourages Thought-Provoking Dialogue
The 34th Annual Sophomore Oratory Contest, hosted by Master of Ceremonies Raini B. on May 14, featured speeches by five finalists. Chad K. discussed the evolution of cursing, Austin N. debated the legalization of prostitution. Harry V. spoke about how America can reclaim its position as the greatest country on Earth, Carlie W. talked about putting an end to high frequency trading in order to restore trust in the stock market, and Michael P. addressed the need for higher education to be free through public colleges and universities. The winner and runner-up will be announced during the Upper School Assembly on Monday, May 19.
