The Stewart Senior Honors Recital celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday, June 1 with a reunion of alumni recitalists and amazing performances by seniors Lena Goldstein, Hanna Hofmeister, and Maya Richard. Alumni were invited to a pre-concert reception and presentation with Drs. James and Brenda Stewart and their daughter, Caroline Stewart Oberle ’93. The Stewarts established the award in the spring of 1993 in recognition and appreciation for McDonogh School’s outstanding program in the areas of dance, theatre, and music.
Caroline Stewart Oberle and first Stewart Recitalist Adrian Hartley ‘94 both sang solos for their fellow alumni performers and also reprised the Vivaldi "Laudamus Te" duet from their Concert Choir days. A retrospective video featuring all the recitalists was also shown.
The recital featured masterful dance, vocal music, and musical theater performances from the three 2018 award recipients and ended with the past, present, and future recitalists singing the Founder’s Day Song.
