Artists and educators Olivia Robinson and Diane Kuthy will display their collaborative research and quilt project, Historic Coverings: Interrogating the Culture of Whiteness, in the Tuttle Gallery from Wednesday, January 10 through Tuesday, February 20. The project explores the visual social culture in the United States during the 1850s as it pertains to Baltimore/Maryland history and was inspired by Baltimore Album Quilts of the late 1840s. The work is the second in a series that focuses on images and narratives from a specific period of U.S. history, using quilting traditions popular at the time.
