In Stephanie Bonat's Biology classes students have been preparing an exposition of biotechnology in 2019 as it concerns cloning, stem cells, DNA fingerprinting, and GMO's. As a part of that process, students used DNA fingerprinting to investigate humpback whale mating behaviors. On Tuesday, April 2, students created fingerprints using new MiniOne Electrophoresis Systems which represented simulated DNA from Luna, a whale calf, her mother, and three possible father candidates. Students then had to analyze the DNA fingerprints to determine paternity.
