AP US Government Takes on the Supreme Court Case

Jeff Sanborn’s AP US Government class took on the roles of plaintiffs, defendants, and the US Supreme Court in the case of The American Legion v. American Humanist Association (Memorial Peace Cross Badensberg) on Tuesday, April 9. Students gave compelling arguments on each side, while Judge Fred Smalkin ’64 and University of Baltimore Law School Professor Natalie Ram presided over the court. In the end, the judges unanimously sided with the American Legion, but Judge Smalkin and Professor Ram noted the difficult nature of the opposition's argument and commended everyone on the quality of their preparation.
