The weather could not have been more perfect for the Class of 2019 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, June 7. The morning began with a Baccalaureate Service in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre, during which Senior Class Dean Andy Hilgartner addressed the graduates and their parents. Shortly after, the Class of 2019 gathered in Tagart Memorial Chapel and then processed out the doors and down the hill to Childs Memorial Terrace for the Commencement Exercises.
After the presentation of awards, Class President Ford Bennett introduced the senior speaker Xander Evans who shared his ideas on revamping commencement ceremonies. Next, Head of School Dave Farace ’87 addressed the graduates and took a selfie with them. After the seniors received their diplomas and Alumni Association membership cards, the ceremony closed with the McDonogh Dedication Hymn. Following the ceremony, the graduates and their families enjoyed a reception by the John McDonogh monument.
