Enlightenment Salon Tea Party
Joanne Cho's AP World History class transported back in time on Thursday, October 11, as she hosted an Enlightenment Salon Tea Party. Acting as Madame Marie Therese Geoffrin, a French patron who was one of the leading figures in the French Enlightenment, Cho invited her students to take on the personas of prominent 18th-century philosophers. Dressed as Voltaire, Rousseau, Montesquieu, Galileo, Smith, Hobbes, Newton, Descartes, Bacon, Wollstonecraft, and Beccaria, the students enjoyed tea while discussing the merits of their philosophies.
