Fourth Graders Put Passions on Display

The Lower School experience at McDonogh culminates in a year long, LifeReady driven enterprise known as The Passion Project. At the beginning of the year, fourth graders chose an issue that they were passionate about and began researching how they could use it to drive change. From there, they utilized the many valuable life skills they've learned over their time in Lower School including letter writing, public speaking, web design, and fundraising. A showcase of their projects was held on Thursday, May 23 and offered the fourth graders an opportunity to explain their ideas to family, friends, and faculty members. Students spoke with clarity and conviction about topics ranging from mental health issues to endanger animal protections. Many plan to use their passion project as a launching point and to continue their work through the summer and beyond.
