Fourth Grade Sets Sail with Living Classrooms
Working with the Living Classrooms Foundation, the fourth grade boarded sailboats, which served as floating learning centers, on Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15. With the Chespeake Bay as their subject, students learned about water quality, the biology and ecosystems of the Bay, how to navigate using traditional tools, and the basics of sailing. The experience tested their problem solving skills, required them to work together as a team, and encouraged strong communication which are foundational elements of McDonogh's LifeReady Academic Plan.
