Sixth Grade Day of Water
The sixth grade took a break from their regular class schedule to participate in a service-learning day filled with exciting hands-on experiences on Friday, September 20. The Day of Water kicks off the sixth grade's partnership with the Ugandan Water Project (UWP) and introduces students to the issues many people around the globe have with accessing clean, potable water. Students worked on a variety of water related projects including building water filtration systems, taking a global map walk to learn about water issues both at home and abroad, and writing and filming a PSA to raise awareness about the UWP. With a goal of creating two rainwater collection systems that will be installed at a school in Uganda, the students will now raise funds over the next few weeks before participating in the Water Walk on Tuesday, October 8.
