Second Graders Share Small Moments

The “Small Moments Café” is a cherished tradition in the second grade. At the beginning of the year, as a part of Writing Workshop, second graders write, edit, and rewrite narrative stories based on their own personal experiences. Once the stories are completed, the second floor of Elderkin Hall transforms into a “coffee house” where students share their work with their classmates while enjoying “coffee” (chocolate milk) and “artisanal pastries” (donut holes). Virtual learners made their own café experiences at home as their shared their stories over Zoom.
