Grandparents and Parents of Alumni Enjoy Event
Current McDonogh grandparents and parents of alumni—two groups that are an integral part of the McDonogh Family, enjoyed an on-campus opportunity to see where the School is going and learn about the past. More than 60 guests gathered in the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Middle School lobby on the evening of Thursday, June 2. They took tours of the new state-of-the-art space which opened in the spring of 2021, learned about McDonogh's history through an archival display–curated by McDonogh’s Archives and Special Collections, and mingled with new friends and old. In his brief remarks, Head of School Dave Farace ’87 shared the importance of parents of alumni and grandparents to the School community and acknowledged several audience members for their leadership: Shanae Walker, who served as McDonogh Fund Parents of Alumni Chairs this year; Arlene Bekman, the incoming McDonogh Fund Grandparent Chair; and Walter and Shawn Radek, the incoming Parents of Alumni Chairs.
