McDonogh’s student stars of the silver screen had their chance to shine on the evening of Friday, May 20 as the School hosted its first Short Film Showcase. An eager audience of family, friends, and faculty packed into the Klein Lyceum to witness the world premiere of four student-produced short films created by the Movie Making I and II classes. Before the screening began, students had the chance to hit the “orange” carpet and have their photos taken by their adoring fans. After the final credits rolled, Zoie Jackson and Jo Turner performed an original song they created for their film. A series of awards, known as The Tylers, in honor of Tyler Groton, were determined by a panel of judges from McDonogh’s Arts and English departments.
