Students Enjoy Sweet Lesson on Rosh Hashanah

Students in all three divisions enjoyed the flavors of Rosh Hashanah during lunch on Wednesday, October 2. As parents from the Jewish Heritage affinity group and members of the Upper School Jewish Awareness Club passed out samples of challah bread, honey, and apples, they explained the significance of the foods to the holiday. Students who completed a quiz or word search were rewarded with a caramel apple lollipop and a wish of "Shanah Tova" meaning "good year!"

The lunchtime event was part of the Office of Equity and Inclusion's Flavors of Culture series designed to share the importance of foods to the heritage, cultures, and religious holidays celebrated in our community.
