Students Share Poems and Blankets of Hope

For second and fourth graders, February is a time to share messages of hope with cancer patients and their families through a meaningful partnership with The Red Devils and The Ronald McDonald House. After learning about the missions of these organizations, students worked together to craft heartfelt poetry filled with encouragement and support.

On Tuesday, February 4, during the annual Day of Hope, the two grades teamed up to make fleece Blankets of Hope. Two weeks later, at the Hope Chapel on Wednesday, February 19, students shared their poems, joined Middle School cast members from Newsies Jr. in song, and presented blankets to a cherished member of the McDonogh community who is battling cancer. The remaining blankets were donated to The Ronald McDonald House, extending comfort and kindness to families facing difficult times.
