After being immersed in the classic English tale, "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame, third graders created opinion pieces based on the characters and themes of the story. The students drafted and revised their writing over several class periods and shared their final publication with friends and faculty at a writing celebration on Tuesday, October 8. To set the mood for the morning, they also enjoyed a tea party, featuring biscuits (cookies) and other typical British snacks. This lesson was designed as part of the Lower School's literacy curriculum. Grounded in the Science of Reading, students' literacy skills are developed as they build knowledge across a range of subjects, aligning with our commitment to LifeReady learning.
