"Raining" Champs: Girls Lax Wins IAAM Conference
Question: When is a rain delay not such a bad thing? Answer: When it serves as a rallying point for a girls lacrosse team team down 4-1 in the Independent Athletic Association A2 conference championship.
As thunderstorms halted play at Johns Hopkins Homewood field on Saturday, May 15, the grateful Eagles packed up their gear and went home to pull themselves together. After an amazing 17-2 season, and three wins against finals opponent Friends, it seemed as if the rain was serving as an overnight time out. When both teams returned the following day to pick up where they had left off, the Eagles were ready to win. And win they did, 11-10.
