“Women in the Arts,” a series of recent portraits by photographer Paula Gately Tillman, is featured in the Tuttle Gallery through October 22. The show includes black-and-white images of 25 Baltimore artists active in different media, from painters and photographers to performers.
Inspired by a pair of Renaissance portraits by two 16th-century female painters in the collection of the Walters Art Museum, Gately Tillman spent two years photographing women artists of all generations. Among her subjects are McDonogh's own Oletha DeVane, Nancy Linden, Janet Maher, Terry Nauhiem, Joyce J. Scott, Linda Day Clark, Soledad Salame, and Linda Gravina Ridings.
An opening reception for "Women in the Arts" will be held Wednesday, October 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

Since she studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Gately Tillman has exhibited her work internationally.
