It was quite a season for our fall athletes. Overall, the Eagles captured 173 victories to 80 losses and 5 ties! We are proud of all our teams!
Congratulations to our fall champions:
Boys Teams
For the second year in a row, top-ranked boys varsity soccer won the MIAA A conference title after beating Mt. St. Joseph High School (6-1) in the championship game on November 10. This is the first time in McDonogh's history that the varsity soccer team has won back-to-back titles. Fresh-soph boys soccer won the junior varsity C championship on November 6, defeating Chapelgate Christian Academy (3-0) after two nail-biting overtimes and a series of penalty kicks. This was the fresh-soph team's second championship in a row as well.
Girls Teams
Varsity field hockey(19-0!) clinched the IAAM B title for the second year in a row, beating Mount de Sales Academy (1-0) in the championship game on November 2. Girls varsity tennis had three teams in the IAAM championship finals on October 23, including the number 3 doubles team of Tiffany M. '12 and Jessica F. '09 who beat Archbishop Spalding for the title. This is the first championship win for girls tennis since 2003! Girls varsity cross country finished third in the IAAM championship meet with 89 points on October 29. And after a very successful season, the girls varsity soccer team played Archbishop Spalding for the IAAM A title on November 2, but was defeated in the championship game (2-0). Let's not forget our undersquad teams who had winning seasons. JV Girls tennis went 11-2, and kudos to J.V. Girls Soccer who finished 11-1 for the season!
