Brandon E. '05 Signs Letter of Intent
Brandon E. '05 signed a NCAA letter of intent yesterday to play baseball for the University of Miami Hurricanes, accepting a full scholarship. Teammates, coaches, and teachers cheered after Brandon and his parents completed the paperwork during a brief ceremony in the athletic lounge.
Said head baseball coach Chet Janiga in his remarks to the crowd, "Earning a Division I baseball scholarship is tough enough as it is, but to earn one at Miami, one of the most prestigious colleges and baseball programs in the country, is beyond belief. ... This is a tribute to Brandon's unrelenting search for excellence, his diligent work ethic, and the great respect he shows his teammates and coaches."
Brandon, a pitcher, is co-captain of McDonogh's 2005 team.
