McDonogh’s Rollins Luetkemeyer Leaders will mobilize the campus community for a day of community service on April 23. Community Outreach Day will engage older students in outdoor projects at Garden Harvest, Patapsco State Park, and Irvine Nature Center, in serving clients at St. Ambrose and Our Daily Bread soup kitchens, Pikesville Nursing Center, and Meals on Wheels, and in neighborhood clean-up for Project PLASE transitional housing, to name a few. Meanwhile, younger students will participate in campus-based service efforts, such as making sandwiches for soup kitchens and care packages for hospital patients and nursing center residents. This is the second year that the 16 senior R-L Leaders have organized a large-scale service day.
