Esteemed writer, educator, and minister Peter Gomes, whom Talk magazine included in its 1999 feature “The Best Talkers in America: Fifty Big Mouths We Hope Will Never Shut Up,” will deliver an evening lecture tonight. All McDonogh families are invited to hear Reverend Gomes, who has been Harvard University's Plummer Professor of Christian Morals since 1974 and minister to its Memorial Church since 1970. His talk will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre.
An inspirational writer as well as speaker, Reverend Gomes is the author of The Good Book: Reading the Bible with Mind and Heart; The Good Life: Truths That Last in Times of Need; and Strength for the Journey; among others. He is the recipient of fourteen honorary degrees and has participated in the inaugurations of two U.S. Presidents.
