Historic Day for Girls Swimming
There was high drama in the Henry A. Rosenberg, Jr. Aquatic Center yesterday. Would the Eagles collect their 50th straight win? Or would mighty rival Notre Dame Prep put an end to the McDonogh girls' remarkable streak?
Either way, the predicted margin of victory was slim. At one point in the meet, two points separated the two teams.
As it turned out, McDonogh came out ahead, 93-77. A 1-2-3 finish in the backstroke and a strong final freestyle relay helped the Eagles get past the Blazers.
Next up for the swimmers: the Independent Athletic Association of Maryland Championship on Sunday, February 4 at UMBC's aquatic center. Go Eagles!
