The Young Actors Theatre in residence at McDonogh School will present the timeless musical Snoopy in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre, 8600 McDonogh Road, on Friday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 19 at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, July 20 at 2 p.m. All shows are open to the public. Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Marcie, Peppermint Patty, and Sally--all the Charles Schultz favorites--will be brought to life by 27 young actors from 20 different area public and private schools, including Riderwood Elementary; Pikesville, Sudbrook, and Franklin middle schools; Park, Beth Tfiloh, Gilman, McDonogh, Emmanuel Lutheran, Baltimore Actor's Theatre Conservatory, and Dulaney High School.
Founded as a community theater for Baltimore-area students, the Young Actors Theatre has been in existence at McDonogh School since 1995. Those accepted into the company receive instruction in all aspects of musical theater, including acting, vocal music, lighting, set design, costuming and make-up. Admission to the five-week summer program is by audition only.
