Sink or Swim: 15h Annual Cardboard Boat Race
Join us for the 15th annual cardboard boat race! This year's event will feature Upper School students manning large, colorful versions of a Hummer, a Converse All-Star, a hollow log, an arrow, a Mississippi riverboat, and a Superman emblem. A seventh team includes three members of the housekeeping staff, whose “Caution When Wet” boat is a bucket and mop atop a wet floor. Teams race to the finish line, trying to keep their crews aboard, their cardboard oars in the water, and the their crafts intact. Cardboard trophies go to the winners.
The parade of boats begins at 2:30 p.m. and the races begin at 3:00 p.m. See models of the crafts in the photo essay below.
