A tradition for more than a decade, the Spirit Parade featured a vibrant display of school spirit. Students gathered by team, club, and classroom to celebrate. Upper and lower schoolers marched side-by-side and hand-in-hand, while middle schoolers folded behind them into the parade.
The Irish Club brought its Lower School leprechauns for good luck, while the Spanish Club marched with a chihuahua and students in the French Club waved their customary baguettes. The costumed pre-first class rode with Headmaster Bo Dixon and his friends in decorated golf carts. Vickie McMillan's third-graders carried a giant shoe in advance of the varsity cross-country team. The Lower School drum corps kept the beat.
All along the parade route, exhuberant students and teachers showed their true colors, orange and black. Some had McD marked on their faces and others held "Beat Gilman" signs.
