Third Grade Scientists Shine at Science Fair
Lower School science teacher Amber Site’s hypothesis for the third grade science fair stated that the students would find success by working together, sharing ideas, and discussing observations. After students confidently presented their findings to classmates, teachers, and family members at the science fair on May 17, Ms. Site’s concluded, “My hypothesis was correct! The students followed the scientific method and demonstrated good teamwork every step of the way.”
The experiments were unique and informative, with topics ranging from what heat source will evaporate water fastest to what candy will melt the quickest when left in a car. All of the work for the small group projects was done at school during science class.
The science fair was a big success. “We learned a lot from each other,” one third grade scientist proudly announced. Ms. Site’s agreed, “I played a game with the children to test their knowledge of the different experiments and they really knew the details.”
