May 13 Art Auction to Benefit Rebuilding Efforts

Plan to attend a silent art auction, featuring art by students, faculty, and other professional artists on Wednesday, May 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Ceres M. Horn Theatre. Proceeds will benefit the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, a charity that rebuilds homes destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.

There will be approximately 100 items for bid in every price range, including paintings, prints, photography, and more. Stop by and shop for graduation, Father's Day, and birthday presents. Your gift will be one that keeps on giving! There will also be a donation jar available at the show for anyone who does not bid on art but would like to support the rebuilding efforts in New Orleans.

Senior Danny G. introduced the concept of the art auction two years ago after visiting relatives in New Orleans and witnessing firsthand the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. Earlier this year, the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Leaders took a trip to New Orleans to help rebuild some of the damaged houses. After seeing how many homes were still in ruins, the group decided that this year's art auction would once again benefit the rebuilding efforts.
