Vocal Motion Six, an award-winning, five-member a capella group from Namibia, will give a free concert in McDonogh's Ceres M. Horn Theatre on Thursday, November 12 at 7 p.m. This group is touring the United States for the first time, thanks to a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Vocal Music Six sings R&B music with a message. In the singers' recent “Living Positive” tour in southwest Africa, they instructed audiences about the realities of HIV/AIDS. They hope to remove the stigma assigned to people living with the disease.
This tour also celebrates Vocal Motion Six’s release of their debut CD, Search and Find. See the group's Web site for more information and a video clip of a recent performance.
While admission is free, donations will be accepted and the CD will be available for purchase. The concert is open to the public.
