Horse Show Organization Honors Streett Moore

On Saturday, November 20, Director of Riding Streett Moore became only the second person inducted into the Baltimore County Horse Shows Association Hall of Fame.

Moore was honored for his twenty-plus years of dedication to the association. Moore said he was completely surprised by the recognition.

Said colleague Miranda Kolbe, "Streett has always encouraged members of the McDonogh barn to be involved in the BCHSA. His name can be found on countless year-end trophies as both the owner of the animals and the trainer of the riders. His influence can be seen and felt across the entire association, which is why he was honored with this award."

Moore has served as McDonogh's director of riding since 1986. An accomplished hunter rider and trainer, he has transformed the program into a top-notch show barn with the highest caliber horses and facilities, including the Eagle's Nest indoor riding arena, which opened in 2009.

Moore is known for his uncanny ability to train green horses, match horse and rider, and prepare them both for the highest level of competition. Each year his students bring home ribbons from prestigious shows such as Devon, Pony Finals, Pennsylvania National and Washington International Horse Shows. Moore also coaches both the varsity and JV riding teams.

In existence for more than 30 years, the BCHSA is a non-profit organization that provides a framework for equestrian competition in Central Maryland.
