McDonogh Dances 2/20
McDonogh Dances, featuring the Upper School Dance Ensemble, is set for Saturday, February 20. Show times are 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre. General admission is $7 at the door. Children under 12 are admitted free.
Arrive early to get a seat. Year after year, the dance concert is one of McDonogh's most popular arts events.
The 2010 extravaganza involves nearly 80 upper schoolers, many of whom have been rehearsing since October. While some have years of dance training, most do not. This year's participants include members of the basketball, track, and swim teams as well as students committed to a range of other activities besides dance.
Talented and experienced choreographers raise the quality of dancers' performances. Five students are among them, as well as four alums with collegiate and professional dance backgrounds.
In charge of coordinating all the dancin' feet is Director of Dance Ilona Kessell, an award-winning professional choreographer.
