Fill-A-Bus for MD. Food Bank, Aug. 20
We are excited to announce that on Saturday, August 20, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., we will hold our first McDonogh Fill-A-Bus Food Drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank. The drive will take place at the Anneslie Shopping Center at 6401 York Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21212.
Bring bags of non-perishable food items to the McDonogh bus and do your part to help the hungry. The more, the better. Student-athletes will be on hand to accept your donations. Please spread the word.
McDonogh has partnered with the Maryland Food Bank and other organizations for a number of years to support Baltimore-area communities in need. For the last two years, we have donated potatoes to the Maryland Food Bank from our own ROOTS Garden, in addition to donating other fresh produce to local soup kitchens.
With the establishment of our garden and because McDonogh is committed to service, we want to help bring awareness to the need for food throughout the year, not just around the holidays.
