Water Polo Wins Championship Title

McDonogh's varsity water polo team won its first MIAA title in 13 years on October 26, with a 9-8 victory over top-ranked Calvert Hall, the defending champions. The third-seeded Eagles went into the championship game with just an hour of rest after upsetting second-seeded Loyola in the semi-finals, 13-6. Both games took place at home in The Henry A. Rosenberg, Jr. '48 Aquatics Center.

It was an exciting finish for Director of Aquatics Scott Ward, who announced after the game that he will be stepping down as varsity water polo coach. He will continue to teach and coach swimming at McDonogh.
