Varsity and JV boys and girls track teams will compete in the league championships on Friday, February 3 at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex, starting at 3:45 p.m. Girls have a great chance to bring home the IAAM championship trophy again. Boys will face strong competition from Mt. St. Joe and Gilman.
Girls swim championships are Sunday, February 5 at McDonogh. The competition begins at 9 a.m., and, as always, the girls will have to swim their best for a shot at the crown against the tough Notre Dame Prep team.
Boys swim championships will be held at McDonogh on Saturday, February 11. The Eagles, who beat Loyola during the regular season (first time in 5 years), have a great opportunity to win their first MIAA crown. The competition begins at 9 a.m. Finals will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Varsity wrestlers (undefeated) finish the regular season with meets against John Carroll and Archbishop Spalding this week. The regular season championship match will be held on Tuesday, February 7. Site to be announced. The two-day MIAA championships will take place at Mt. St. Joe, February 10 and 11.
Varsity girls basketball (20-1) has three regular-season games left before playoffs begin on Tuesday, February 14. The title game is Saturday, February 19 at UMBC. Time to be announced.
Varsity boys basketball (12-9) has five more home games left in the regular season. The Eagles hope to make the MIAA playoffs as one of the top six teams in the A Conference. Playoffs begin on Wednesday, February 15 at the home of the higher seed. The championship game will be held at UMBC on Sunday, February 20. Time to be announced.
The varsity squash team (4-6) hopes to advance through the opening playoff round to get to the title game on Tuesday, February 7.
The fresh-soph boys basketball team (10-2) is undefeated in their conference. The Eagles have three remaining games and are heavy favorites to host the championship game on Tuesday, February 14.
