Airmen of Note Holiday Concert Tonight
The Airmen of Note, the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force, will give a free performance of holiday big band arrangements and classic jazz on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Horn Theatre.
Established in 1950 to carry on the tradition of Major Glenn Miller's Army Air Corps dance band, today the "Note" features 18 of the most talented jazz musicians in the country and is one of the last touring big bands. The Airmen of Note have earned an international reputation as one of the finest and most versatile big bands of its kind in the world.
Director of Upper School Instrumental Music Don New, who performed with "The Note" for 21 years, including performances for four US presidents, may even join the band for a song or two!
