Folk musicians Ken and Brad Kolodner will perform in McDonogh School’s Tagart Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. The evening concert offers the audience an opportunity to hear the father-son duo perform traditional American music in an intimate, acoustically pleasing setting. Admission is $5 at the door and the public is welcome.
Ken Kolodner, one of the foremost influential hammered dulcimer players, and his son Brad, a vocalist and clawhammer banjo player have been playing together for more than five years. The local duo is known nationally and internationally for their tight, musical arrangements of original and traditional music. Both are also highly regarded teachers, giving individual lessons at their home, teaching in workshops at festivals across the country, and holding regular "slow jams" where developing musicians are encouraged to participate in the time honored tradition of playing music with friends. They will spend the day at McDonogh performing for Lower, Middle, and Upper School students, speaking to classes about folk music, and giving workshops.
