Senior Wins Creative Writing Award
Following in the footsteps of canonical writers like John
Updike, Sylvia Plath, and Truman Capote, rising senior Sierra
L. was recognized for her literary talent with a Scholastic
Art and Writing Award. Given annually by the Alliance for
Young Artists and Writers since 1923, the awards go to
aspiring authors and artists in grades seven through twelve at
the regional and national levels. Sierra received a Gold Key
at the regional level and a silver medal at the national level
for her work titled "Hemingway and Hot Chocolate."
