The McDonogh Theatre Lab is proud to announce a special performance of Overture for a Thursday Morning, featuring Kali Quinn, the 2013 McDonogh Theatre Artist-in-Residence on Sunday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Osbourne Black Box Theatre. Admission is $5 for McDonogh students and faculty and $10 for the general public.
In her newest solo work, Quinn plays Lila, a character who listens to Talking Heads and wants to be a violin rock star, but unwanted discoveries drive her toward the truth about her own birth. A clash of 1950’s nostalgia, visual poetry, and a very contemporary search of self are all explored through real-time musical composition, physical tragi-comedy, and common household products.
Overture for a Thursday Morning provides a suspenseful and inspiring journey that questions the will to go on and who to take with you.
