Vocal Music Residency Concert

The concert of the Second Annual McDonogh Vocal Residency will take place Sunday, November 3 at 5:00 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre. The performance, the culmination of a week-long program for Upper School students, will feature resident artist Barbara Dever, a mezzo-soprano who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera with the likes of Luciano Pavoratti and Placido Domingo. She is currently on the faculty at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ.

Founded by the family of Jamie Balter Levine ’11, the residency celebrates the arts program that allowed Jamie, and students like her, to cultivate a lifelong passion for vocal music. It introduces students to the artistry and craft of professional vocal music through master classes, seminars, and individual coaching.

The Vocal Arts Residency performance, an evening of opera and art song, will feature Dever along with select soloists and the McDonogh concert choir. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
