It was an exciting weekend for the girls track and lacrosse teams, as they edged out their tough opponents in IAAM championship competition and held onto their titles.
On Saturday, May 9, determining the IAAM Spring Track champion came down to the very last race of the two-day competition. Congratulations to the varsity girls track team who beat a tough Maryvale team by only six points to capture their 12th consecutive outdoor track title. On Sunday, May 10 the girls lacrosse team kept their winning streak alive as they faced off against Roland Park Country School (RPCS) in a contest for the IAAM “A” Conference title. The Eagles came from four points behind and won the game in the last seconds with a final score of 15-14. The girls took home their seventh straight IAAM title and recorded their 133rd straight win for the team. Read about the exciting victory in the Baltimore Sun.
On Wednesday, May 13, the Baltimore Sun named Olivia J. ’15 the female “Athlete of the Week.” Throughout the three games of the IAAM A Conference tournament Olivia, a senior midfielder, dominated the draws and scored 11 goals. Her 2015 season stats are equally impressive with 51 goals scored, nine assists, and more than 70 draw controls. Olivia is headed to Duke University in the fall. Olivia was joined by teammate Elizabeth G. '15 in being named an Under Armour lacrosse All-American. Read more about the honor in the Baltimore Sun.
