Twenty-four seventh and eighth graders from the McDonogh Singers, under the direction of Suzanne Eldridge, embarked on a four-day performance tour at Disney World on February 20.
In addition to putting on a melodic show that featured “Uptown Girl,” “Joline,” and “Africa,” the singers participated in a Disney Performing Arts workshop where they immersed themselves in movie magic by learning vocal techniques and recording song selections from the soundtracks of classic Disney feature films. They also explored singing, choreography, and the audition process in the “Disney's Broadway Magic” workshop at Saratoga Springs.
Every year, vocal, instrumental, and dance ensembles from all around the world apply to perform as part of Disney Performing Arts at both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Once selected, they are given the opportunity to perform in front of an international audience. This was the McDonogh Singers fourth time on the tour.
