Middle School Idol Delights
The McDonogh Singers held their biennial McDonogh Idol competition this
fall to
raise funds in support of their performances and workshop tours of Broadway
and Disney World. More than 30 singers participated in the preliminary auditions
in October. Then, on Thursday, November 9, audiences filled the Horn Theatre to
see 19 singers perform on stage in the McDonogh Idol Semi-Finals. A panel of
judges,
each professional performers and musicians, narrowed down the group to nine
and the audience selected the 10th finalist. The following night, the finalists
kicked off the their "Idol Tour" with show stopping performances.
