The Sixth Annual McDonogh Vocal Residency Concert on Sunday, March 4 will feature mezzo-soprano Augusta Caso, a 2005 graduate of the School. Fresh off her Metropolitan Opera debut as a Flowermaiden in Wagner’s Parsifal, Caso will spend three days working with members of McDonogh’s Upper School Concert Choir prior to the performance.
Caso has been hailed by the LA Times as "mysteriously smoldering…a name to remember." According to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle she is becoming known for her "silken…beguiling mezzo" and "fine subtle acting." Caso made her New York City debut in October 2016 with the Center for Contemporary Opera in a one-woman opera by Louis Andreissen. Since then, she has appeared in productions in Europe, New Hampshire, and Charleston, South Carolina.
McDonogh’s Vocal Residency Concert will feature performances by Caso and the master class participants. The concert, which begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre, is free and open to the public.
