Starting a business in the food industry was on the menu of the January 14 installment of A Conversation With—an ongoing series of conversations coordinated by the Alumni Association’s Outreach Committee.
Chocolatier Jinji Fraser ’01, the creator of the Baltimore-based Pure Chocolate by Jinji, led an in-depth discussion with Josh Hershkovitz '96 co-founder of Hersh’s—a popular South Baltimore eatery specializing in wood-fired pizza.
During the lively conversation, Josh described his journey from building furniture to making food, the philosophy behind his simple Mediterranean menu, and the secret to his restaurant’s success. Both Jinji and Josh addressed questions from attendees and offered valuable advice to fellow alums and aspiring entrepreneurs. Jinji shared, “Your success will be measured by who is able to become successful themselves because of what you have done,” and Josh urged viewers to “always love what you are doing.” Watch A Conversation With Josh Hershkovitz '96.
